The Rite of the Feast of Pentecost

The rite of the Feast of Pentecost is the joyful (Festive) rite, characterized by bright, uplifting melodies suitable for feasts and spiritual joy. There is no fasting at all, and no prostrations (metanias) during this feast.

Vespers Incense (Evening Raising of Incense)

• The special Pentecost Naqous (bell) verses are chanted.

• After the Litany of the Departed, the doxologies of the Resurrection, Pentecost, the Virgin Mary, and Archangel Michael are said. The service continues as usual, with the Psalm response and Gospel response specific to Pentecost.

Matins Incense (Morning Raising of Incense)

• The service proceeds as usual until “Efnoti nai nan.” After chanting Kyrie eleison three times with the Naqous:The hymn “Kata ni choros” (O all the heavenly hosts) is chanted. A procession is made carrying only the icon of the Resurrection, while chanting: “Christos Anesti” (Christ is risen), “Akhrestos Analepsis”, “Bikhristos aftonf”. Then the Gospel litany is prayed, followed by the Psalm and Gospel in the joyful tune, along with their responses and the conclusion.

The Divine Liturgy

• Only the Third Hour Psalms and Gospel are prayed. The litanies (pieces) are not read; instead, the congregation chants: Holy God, Peace be with you, We magnify you, and the Creed. The Lamb is offered as usual. The hymns “Alleluia Fay Bi Bi,” “Tai Shori,” and the intercessions (Hitenies) are chanted as in the Feast of the Resurrection. The Praxis (Acts) response for Pentecost is said, and the reading continues.

• After the Praxis: The Synaxarium is not read. The priest chants the Third Hour absolution in Coptic and Arabic. The congregation responds with “Pekepnevma Ethowab”, concluding with “Pi Epnevma.” Then the joyful “Agios” hymn is chanted, adding: "You rose from the dead and ascended into the heavens, have mercy on us.”

• The Psalm and Gospel responses, Adam and Watos Aspasmos, are said, and the Liturgy continues as usual. The Resurrection Fraction is prayed. During distribution: Psalm 150 is chanted in the joyful tune. Followed by the hymn “Asomen to Kyrio.”

Rite of the “Kneeling Praises”

The Psalms of the Sixth, Ninth, Sunset, and Compline Hours are prayed (and Setar in monasteries). Then Hymn “Ni Ethnos Tiro”, The Fourth Hoos, and Adam Psali for Pentecost and Ai Koti Psali. The full Sunday Theotokia is chanted. Followed by the Tarh (exposition) and the conclusion of the doxologies.

Rite of the Kneeling Prayers

• The three kneeling prayers are prayed at the Ninth Hour (3:00 PM).

• First & Second Kneeling Prayers Prayed in the second choir in the joyful tune. At the response of the Gospel of the second kneeling prayer, the tune shifts to the annual (regular) tone, and the rest continues in that tone. Third Kneeling Prayer Prayed in the first choir, after opening the sanctuary curtain. Prayed entirely in the annual tune.

طقس عيد العنصرة.
هو الطقس الفرايحى الذى يمتاز بالنغم المفرح الذى يليق بالأعياد والأفراح الروحية ولا يكون فيه صوم البتة ولا ميطانيات.

في رفع بخورعشية:
• تقال أرباع الناقوس الخاصة بالعيد.
• بعد أوشية الراقدين تقال ذكصولوجيات القيامة والعنصرة والعذراء والملاك ميخائيل ويكمل كالعادة ويقال مرد المزمور ومرد الإنجيل الخاصين بالعنصرة.

في رفع بخورباكر:
يصلى رفع بخور باكر كالمعتاد حتى يصل إلى إفنوتى ناى نان، وبعدما يقال كيرياليسون ثلاث مرات بالناقوس، يقال لحن "كاتا ني خوروس الحجاب ،يا كل الصفوف السمائيين" ويعملون الدورة وهم حاملون أيقونة القيامة فقط ويقولون لحن "خرستوس آنيستى" ثم "لحن آبخرستوس آناليم ابسيس" ثم لحن "بخرستوس آفتونف"، ثم تقال أوشية الإنجيل والمزمور بلحن الفرح و مرد المزمور ومرد الإنجيل والختام.

في القداس:
• تصلى مزامير وإنجيل الساعة الثالثة فقط، ولا تصلى القطع بل يقولون قدوس الله والسلام لك ونعظمك وقانون الإيمان ويقدم الحمل كالمعتاد، وتقال الليلويا فاي بيه بى ولحن طاي شوري والهيتنيات كما في عيد القيامة، ومرد الإبركسيس الخاص بالعيد وتستمر الصلاة حتى قراءة الإبركسيس.
• بعد قراءة الإبركسيس لا يقرأ السنكسار بل يقول الكاهن قطع الساعة الثالثة قبطيًا وعربيًا ويردون عليه بالمرد "بيك بنفما إثؤاب" وفي نهايتها يقولون لحن "بي بنفما"، ثم لحن آجيوس الفرايحي ويقال فى الثلاث مرات "أوآناستاس إكتون نيكرون، كى آنيلثون إستوس أورانوس إيليسون إيماس".
• يقال مرد المزمور ومرد الإنجيل والأسبازموس الآدام والواطس وتستمر الصلاة كالمعتاد وتقال قسمة القيامة، وفي التوزيع يقال المزمور 150 بلحن الفرح ثم يقال لحن "آسومين تو كيريو".

طقس تسبحة السجدة:
تصلى مزامير سواعى السادسة والتاسعة والغروب والنوم (والستار فى الأديرة). ثم يقال لحن نى إثنوس تيرو والهوس الرابع، وأبصالية آدام للعنصرة وأبصالية آي كوتى. وتقال تداكية يوم الأحد بأكملها. ثم الطرح وختام الذكصولوجيات.

طقس صلاة السجدة:
• تصلى صلوات السجدة الثلاث فى الساعة التاسعة (3 ظهراً).
• تصلى السجدة الأولى والثانية فى الخورس الثانى باللحن الفرايحي وذلك حتى مرد إنجيل السجدة الثانية فيقال باللحن السنوي وتكمل بقية السجدة الثانية باللحن السنوي.
• تصلى السجدة الثالثة فى الخورس الأول بعدما يفتح ستر الهيكل باللحن السنوي.
